Jackson Rancheria, Fall 2026
Jim & Joanne McPheters and Dave & Bobbi Peterson outdid themselves for our fall event. The dinners were great and the special programs were such fun. As usual, members stepped up to man our famous Romers Bar, in Juan's absence. David Lee took charge and what a great job he did. No-one went thirsty for lack of refreshments.
Friday evening before dinner, the Biggest Little Kitchen Store provided fun and prizes and offered a discount for anything we purchased at the store. This editor took full advantage and had a credit card bill waiting for her when she got home.
They also provided several bottles of wine at a great discount for our wine tasting later in the week. Additionally, thank you to members who contributed your favorite wine to help supplement the variety of tasting. All this gave us some delicious and well stocked, wine tasting.
Saturday was the West Point Lumberjack Day. It was quite hot and how the participating ladies handled the chain saws for that event is totally beyond me. They sawed through tree trunks in no time and I couldn't have even held those chain saws up!
On Sunday at our Membership meeting, we were honored to have Alan Tarp, WRVA Vice President, Central CA, and his wife, Diane, attend to present us with a check for $250.00 and a certificate in honor of Romers 40th Anniversary. Thank you Allen!

What a great Rally we had at Jackson Rancheria RV Resort! Our leading host volunteers, Jim, Joanne, Dave & Bobbi did an outstanding job! David Lee stepped in as Bar Manager, while Juan and Debbie were moving into their new home and Janet Ream and Debbie Smith led the daily preparation of the clubhouse with the help of others. Thank you very much to all for volunteering.
We were honored to have Alan Tarp, Vice President of the Central Region for WRVA and his wife, Diane visit. Allen brought with him a check for $250.00 to help us celebrate the Romers 40th anniversary. A special thanks to our Vice President, Dean Bash, for the fantastic job he did on remaking our Display Board. It has been updated to reflect current rallies and is much easier to transport. Also, Kate Pryor, membership chair did an excellent job in updating the Romers Application Folder! Thank you to both Dean and Kate.
Without volunteers to Host and Co-Host rallies, we would not have the vibrant club that we have all grown to love and quite honestly expect. If this sounds like a plea for continued support, you are correct. So, please step up to the plate and be assured you will have more help than you dreamed possible from other members.
I am looking forward to our Winter Rally at the Verde Ranch RV Resort, January 7 to 11, 2027. Our Vice President Dean Bash and his wife Anne, along with new members Mary and Glenn Meyers will be hosting that event. Thank you very much! Make sure you get your reservations in soon! Check the website if you need a copy of the Rally Application.
See you all in January! Have a wonderful Thanksgiving and Christmas.

Once again, a very special thanks to Jim & Joanne McPheters and Dave & Bobbi Peterson for hosting the Jackson Rancheria Rally. What a beautiful campground and a great bunch of friends to be with sharing food, spirits & games.
Our next rally will be at the Verde Ranch RV Resort in Camp Verde, AZ on January 7 - 11, 2027, hosted by Anne and me, along with Mary and Glenn Meyers. How great that new members have volunteered to co-host this event. Sign-ups have already begun. The deadline to guarantee a site with the group is November 23, 2026. Cabins are also available. Make reservations with the campground.
April 2027 will have the FRVA Rally in Tulare, CA, April 7-11, 2027. Reservations can be made on the Western RV Association website.
Also, the Spring Rally will be in Red Bluff at the KOA April 15 - 19, 2027. It is being hosted by Doris & Ralph Davis and Kate Pryor and David Lee. Make reservations with the camp ground for camping, and for food and round up tickets, with Doris.
We are looking for volunteers to host a rally in the fall of 2027. If you have an idea for an event, please contact me or one of the other officers.
Thank you to all members and associates for actively supporting our club.
Dean Bash, Vice President
FRVA National
Director

Many Thanks to Bob and Tracy Dillon for representing the Romers at the FRVA International Rally in Missouri this summer.
Bob's complete report is in the minutes from the membership meeting.
Our Western Area Rally will be held April 7 - 11 at theTulare Agri-Center. This is a big change from the usual venue of Indio in January! The Romers will attend as a group and go in together on April 6. It is not too early to register! Go to: wrvajamboree.com and sign up for electric your choice, 30 or 50 amp. The Club will volunteer to drive the Express Trams and I will be coordinating that separately. If you wish to also volunteer for something else, you may do so on the registration form. This event will end 4 days before the Romers Rally in Red Bluff, so you have ample time to travel. Plan on both!

TECH TALK
As usual, John Van Doren, did an excellent job monitoring the Tech Talk. Below are some of the topics discussed:
* Lithium Batteries and AGM Batteries. To replace "Big Boy" bi-directional charging relay between inverter/charger and alternator and both house and chassis batteries. It is used mostly for LifePo Lithium batteries including starting batteries. But may be used with AGM.
* John has purchased a New Ionic starter battery to replace two AGM batteries. This freed up space to add a fifth 100AH house battery to go along with his new 960 watt solar setup.
* John shared his recent problem with the Stop Engine Light on his dash. The engine was not overheating. After trouble shooting a friend recommended disconnecting and shorting wires from the overflow tank and that worked. Conclusion: Probably a bad sensor that he will have to trace.
* Tony shared that he installed a Battery Isolation Manager (BIM). It stops the charging every 15 minutes to insure that the alternator does not overheat.
* A general discussion on whether B-20 Diesel fuel is okay for our motorhome engines. The consensus was that it was fine and no need to add an additive. However, not everyone agreed on whether it is recommended to add an additive.
*. Debbie Smith noted that she and Janet installed a "Rescue Ranger" between the DEF Head and the ECM to prevent going into the Limp Mode.
HOPFULLY THIS HELPS CONTRIBUTE TO A SAFER, MORE PLEASANT JOURNEY
SUNSHINE
We are blessed that there are lots of good issues to report:
*First, we welcome new members on their first trip with us:
Tad and Anne Bixler
Glenn and Mary Meyers
* Jim McPheters hip replacement if doing quite well after only 11 weeks
* Jim & Susan Lewis have a new coach (and it is beautiful!)
* Dick & Maureen Bouma have a new red, 2024 Equinox, all wheel drive tow car
* Juan Marquez & Debbie Holt have a new house, which is why they are not with us this trip (moving is such a chore!)
* Jim & Susan Lewis's daughter was married since our last outing
* Susan Lewis's sister, Elon McLaughlin was recently married
* Gail Horowitz continues to improve from bilateral pulmonary embolism that started last year
SHOWERS
We also have some sad events to report:
* Our thoughts and prayers are with Kate Pryor, who recently lost her mother
* Rob Wilson is having some health issues. Rob & Diane were missed on this trip
* Bobbi Peterson is also having health issues, which is the reason they were only able to share a brief time with us
* Our thoughts and prayers are also with Susan Lewis who lost her sister recently
* Ellen Johnson had Gall Bladder surgery, that's the bad part, the good part is she is doing quite well and she & Larry and their son and daughter were with us here in Jackson
Please remember to keep Pat Klempner aware of what is happening so that we may all share in our daily events
